The patient was sent to the hospitalj All the railroads have consented to give reduced rates over their lines for persons who wish to attend the Firemen's Tournament in this city on the 1 2th and 13th. Let all come. A big time is expected. The glass bottle manufacturers throughout the country resumed opre ations Saturday, after a shut down of eight weeks. The resumption gives employment to 5,000 operatives in 100 factories. We had a call this mornii gfrom Col. W. R. Richardson, of Raleigh. He is well known here, having been connected tor some time with the North State of this city. We regret we were not in when he called. Newton Beers' "Lost in Lon don" was produced at the Windsor Theatre last evening as a superb lyr ic spectacular drama every effort be ing put forth by the management in the way of elaborate stage setting. The first death was that of Dr. Fordyce M, Hub bard, who was found dead by his bedside on Saturday morning in the attitude of prayer. He was eighty years of age. He was the father in law of Col. T. M. Argo. The sec. ond death was that of Dr. Joseph R Parker, which occurred on. Saturday afternoon.
